• Three nights of Julien Baker at The Bottleneck means KC has more than one shot to catch one of indie rock’s most quietly devastating live performers. She’s there November 12-14, so pick your night and get tickets before they disappear. 

• The chandelier is coming down in KC. The Phantom of the Opera takes over Hale Arena December 2-8 with the massive score, gothic drama, and full theatrical spectacle you know by heart. Grab tickets and make a night of it.

• If you like your live music with some soul, grit, and voices that can flatten a room, The War and Treaty at Knuckleheads on November 3 should be on your list. Get your tickets and catch them up close.

• Kansas City just made its biggest Housing Trust Fund investment yet. The city approved $16.4 million for 16 affordable housing projects, including family shelters, apartment renovations, and the restoration of a century-old hotel.

• The Santa Fe neighborhood is getting a serious home-repair boost. Jackson County is putting $1.4 million toward interior and exterior repairs for residents, with the goal of helping longtime homeowners stay put and keep the historic neighborhood strong.
