We made it to the part of the week where “I should probably stay in” starts losing the argument. There’s plenty happening around town, and we pulled together a few things worth putting on your radar…

First up, if you like your comedy sharp, weird, and a little chaotic, Kristin Key is bringing The Ca-Caw Tour to The Truman on September 27. Get your tickets and come laugh with us.*

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Sound Bite Social is now open Monday through Saturday starting at 5PM, bringing KC a new late-night spot for burgers, fries, and crave-worthy bites. Stop by for a full kitchen, daily happy hour from 5-7PM, and your next go-to hangout. Pull up.*

  • Three nights of Julien Baker at The Bottleneck means KC has more than one shot to catch one of indie rock’s most quietly devastating live performers. She’s there November 12-14, so pick your night and get tickets before they disappear.

  • The chandelier is coming down in KC. The Phantom of the Opera takes over Hale Arena December 2-8 with the massive score, gothic drama, and full theatrical spectacle you know by heart. Grab tickets and make a night of it.

  • If you like your live music with some soul, grit, and voices that can flatten a room, The War and Treaty at Knuckleheads on November 3 should be on your list. Get your tickets and catch them up close.

  • Plus other just announced shows from Adam Hood, Spirit and Song and more!

ON OUR RADAR

Coming from a team of people who are paid to find the best things happening in Kansas City, this is probably a list worth checking. From arena-sized worship to a rock opera that still knows how to make some noise, October’s looking pretty stacked. Think of this as our very own Staff Picks.
